AI Training & Fluency
AI Training for Teams, With AI Configured for Your Real Work
Hands-on AI fluency training for founders, operators and lean teams. Every engagement ends with working AI instances, such as Claude Projects and reusable skills for ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini, set up in your team's own accounts.
Most AI training teaches tools. We configure them.
Most AI training for employees is a tool tour: a few hours of demos and a slide deck. The team goes back to work, opens a blank chat box and drifts back to old habits within a week.
Operator Intelligence (OI) runs AI training differently. We teach the skills, then configure the tools around your real work before we leave. Every engagement ends with working AI instances in your team's own accounts: Claude Projects, Skills and connectors, ChatGPT plugins, Gemini skills, team prompt libraries and operating playbooks. People learn on the assets they will use on Monday, built from your documents, rules and workflows.
That is the difference between AI fluency training and AI awareness. Fluency shows up in the work, so the work is where we train.
Why corporate AI training stalls
The problem with AI training for employees: no use case, too little practice
Those numbers point to two fixes. Every person needs a specific use case tied to their own job, not a generic prompt list, and enough hands-on hours to build the habit. Section surveyed 5,000 knowledge workers at companies with 1,000+ employees; lean companies feel the gap even more, because nobody owns AI full time and every unused seat is a cost.
Operator Intelligence designs every program to clear five hours of practice per person, the threshold in BCG's study, and to leave each participant with a configured tool for a real task.
Our method: Anthropic's 4D AI Fluency Framework, applied to your work
We teach AI fluency through the 4D AI Fluency Framework, developed by Anthropic with Rick Dakan and Joseph Feller. Each competency maps to something we configure. Discernment usually needs the most work: in Anthropic's AI Fluency Index (February 2026), 85.7% of 9,830 analyzed conversations showed iteration but only 8.7% showed fact-checking.
| Competency | What your team learns | What we configure |
|---|---|---|
| Delegation | Which tasks to hand to AI, which to keep, and which mode fits: automation, augmentation or agency | A task map per role and the first instances aimed at the highest-value tasks |
| Description | How to give AI context, examples, constraints and a clear definition of done | System instructions, knowledge files and Skills that hold your context so nobody retypes it |
| Discernment | How to evaluate output, catch confident errors and know when to push back | Review checklists and test prompts built into each instance |
| Diligence | Responsible use: data rules, disclosure and accountability for the final work | An AI acceptable use policy, approved tool tiers and human review rules |

Learn moreWhat your team walks away with
Every AI training engagement leaves working assets behind, not just notes.
- Configured AI instances (Claude Projects, Skills, ChatGPT plugins or Gemini skills) in your own accounts
- A team prompt library organized by role and task
- A team AI operating playbook: approved tools, where assets live and who maintains them
- An AI acceptable use policy adapted to your business
- A 4D self-check for each participant, before and after
- A 30/60/90-day adoption plan with named owners
- A baseline and 90-day usage readout for the sponsor
Generative AI tools we train on and configure
We work in the tools you already pay for. Plan features change; we configure to your current plan. OpenAI is retiring custom GPTs in favor of ChatGPT plugins, and Google is replacing Gems with skills, so we build portable, SKILL.md-style skills and migrate the GPTs and Gems your team already uses. Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini and Copilot are trademarks of their owners, and Operator Intelligence is an independent consultancy.
| Tool | What we configure | Typical use |
|---|---|---|
| Claude (Anthropic) | Projects, Skills, connectors and MCP, Cowork, Claude Code | Writing, analysis, research and multi-step work on your documents |
| ChatGPT (OpenAI) | Plugins and skills (the successor to custom GPTs), Projects, connectors | Teams standardized on ChatGPT that share assistants across a workspace |
| Google Gemini | Skills (which replace Gems), Gemini in Workspace apps, NotebookLM | Google Workspace companies working in Gmail, Docs and Drive |
| Microsoft Copilot | Setup and team practices, on request | Microsoft 365 organizations |
| n8n, Make, Zapier | Hand-offs from trained teams into automations | Workflows ready to run without a person in the loop |
AI training for teams, by role and industry
Generic examples don't stick, so we build exercises and instances from each team's daily work, drawing on the playbooks in our industry AI hub:
- Sales teams: account research, call prep, CRM notes and proposal drafts.
- Marketing teams and agencies: brand-voice Projects, content operations and client-IP rules.
- Promotional products distributors: quoting, presentations and supplier follow-up, shaped by co-founder Luke Freeman's 20+ years in the industry. See AI for promotional products distributors.
- Hospitality and restaurants: guest messaging, review responses and SOP assistants. See AI for restaurants and hospitality groups.
- Franchise systems: franchisee onboarding and brand-safe local marketing. See AI for franchise systems.
- Coaches and communities: program design, member support and content repurposing. See AI for coaches and communities.
- Law firms: confidentiality-first setups with supervision and review rules.
How we measure AI training results
We measure usage against a baseline instead of collecting end-of-session ratings.
Baseline
Before training: target workflows, time spent on each, current AI use and a 4D self-check per participant.
Handover
We count the instances and assets each person built and confirm each passed testing on real tasks.
Day 30
Active use of each instance, workflows that moved and blockers, with fixes to instructions or knowledge.
Day 60
Prompt library contributions, new use cases and time on target workflows against the baseline.
Day 90
A sponsor readout: usage, time saved on target workflows, the repeat 4D self-check and the next workflows worth automating.
AI governance and data handling in every program
Fluency includes knowing what not to do. Every Operator Intelligence program covers data classification, approved tools and human review. We recommend business-tier accounts over personal ones, set connector permissions to the least access each task needs, and write down what never goes into a prompt: client personal data, credentials, unreleased financials and similar material.

Who teaches: instructor credentials
Programs are led by Operator Intelligence co-founder Chad Westleigh. Chad has nearly 20 years in digital strategy and 5,500+ hours of hands-on AI work over the last two years. He holds an MIT Professional Education certificate in Applied Agentic AI for Organizational Transformation and completed Anthropic's AI Fluency: Framework & Foundations and Teaching AI Fluency courses (certificates of completion).
Co-founder Luke Freeman brings 20+ years in promotional products distribution and sales and $500M+ in career sales, which keeps sales and operations training grounded in how deals actually close.

How much does AI training for teams cost?
We don't publish fixed prices because scope varies. Cost is driven by headcount, the number of instances we configure, how many tools are involved, in-person versus virtual delivery and whether connectors and governance are in scope. See how we price, then request a scoped proposal.
How long does an AI training program take?
An Executive AI Workshop is a half or full day. A Team AI Bootcamp and an AI Workspace Setup each run two to four weeks, and measurement continues to day 90.
How much of my team's time does it take?
Each program gives every person at least five hours of hands-on practice, the threshold BCG's AI at Work 2025 study linked to regular use. Because people train on their own tasks, much of that time produces real work.
Is our company data safe during training?
We work inside your business-tier accounts, so your data stays under your admin's controls rather than moving into ours. We set least-privilege connector permissions, follow your AI policy or help you write one, and keep sensitive data out of prompts.
Who owns the Projects, plugins and skills you build?
You do. Everything is configured in your own accounts, and the instructions, knowledge files, Skills and playbooks belong to your company. We document each instance so your team can maintain it without us.
Should our team use Claude or ChatGPT?
It depends on the work and on the tools you already pay for, and many teams run both. We train on and configure Claude, ChatGPT and Gemini, and recommend based on your tasks, not a vendor preference. Our Claude vs ChatGPT for business comparison breaks the choice down by team.
Should we start with training or with automation?
Usually training, because fluent teams spot better automation candidates. When a workflow is ready to run on its own, our AI enablement practice builds it as an agent or automation.
